     Perfect Shafts International Project Management was contracted by Dome Resources to develop the underground workings at Tolukuma Gold Mine, located in Papua New Guinea, 100km north of Port Moresby, at an elevation of 1,550 metres.

​

The project comprised of the development of the mine using traditional hand held mining methods until we gained the ability to introduce mechanised equipment to the project. Development through drill & blast methods was carried out to develop five ore zones including, from north to south, Tolukuma, Zine, Tolimi, Tinabar and Gulbadi.

The Gulbadi zone includes the Gulbadi and Gulbadi C veins. Clay zones of variable width were located in the intersections on two or more structures making mining more difficult.
