Segmental Shaft Construction
PSI Limited can provide shaft construction using precast concrete segmental linings.
With the use of these linings shafts can be constructed as a caisson in poor ground conditions or by underpinning in clays and weathered material. In either case the method has many advantages over traditional piling and ground treatment techniques. Its simplicity should make it every clients or contractors choice for shaft sinking in soft ground.
Internal diameters are available in a range between 3m and 25m. Shafts constructed using segmental linings are often used on Civil Engineering projects for tunnel construction works, manhole construction, mine access and underground storage facilities.
The technique reduces the construction risks often associated with piling and excavation in soft grounds. It also has significant cost benefits as it has a much lower installation rate than all other methods.
