PSI Limited was engaged by the Kier Kaden Laing O'Rourke JV to provide technical review and advice on methods and equipment selection for the excavation of the access shaft and station caverns, as well as to provide construction management and recruitment support to get the project on track.

​

 Due to the highly sensitive nature of the project being adjacent to one of the busiest operating railway systems in the world, the construction program was in jeopardy from the start due to poor design and equipment selection.  A number of innovations and changes were proposed by PSI and implemented by the client, enabling the the excavation to be completed in a timely manner, with no disruption to the train network.
