Perfect Shafts International was contracted to drill the rock anchor bolt holes, on the north bound portal cut back on the Tintenbar to Ewingsdale upgrade of the Pacific Highway. Precise drilling was required for the canopy tubes to depth of 13 metres deep, at spacing of 150mm with three rows installed in both tunnels. Work at times was challenging, with difficult ground conditions due to a variety of factors such as weather and geography.

The T2E project is an important part of the RMS’s Pacific Highway Upgrade Program. The length of the upgrade is 16.3 km, starting at Ross Lane in Tintenbar and extending north to the existing Ewingsdale interchange, near the settlement of Ewingsdale.
